BJAC conducts a food drive!
Friday, October 24, 2008 - Thursday, January 01, 2009
BJAC conducts a food drive! The Maryland Food Bank needs our help! Their shelves are empty!!! Donated products at the Maryland Food Bank are at an all time low, only 50% of their normal donations. Soup kitchens, food pantries and emergency shelters are not getting the food that they need to feed the hungry in Maryland. These are hungry people like children, hard working adults and seniors living on a fixed income. We are looking for large empty boxes, volunteers to be contact points to run the drives in their offices, volunteers to make pickups and drop offs to the Food Bank, and donation items! The food bank needs MORE than canned items, but also peanut butter, nuts/seeds, dried beans, oatmeal, breakfast cereal, rice and rice cakes, all pasta, evaporated milk, powdered milk, infant formula, puddings, diapers, toilet paper, plastic/paper plates and cups, salad dressings, soups and unused health and beauty items. Clear out those pantries, help someone in need! If you can help out with getting boxes, holding the drive, picking up and dropping off to the food bank in Baltimore, contact Linda Nguyen at info@lindasellsbaltimore.com or 240.988.1626.

Adopt-A-Child for the Holidays!
Thursday, December 07, 2006 - Monday, January 01, 2007
This year BJAC will be "adopting" a child from St. Vincent 's Center for Christmas. Our child’s name is Robert F. and he is 13 years old. Robert has requested items that include a personal CD player, the Pirates of the Caribbean I & II soundtrack CDs, the Pokemon soundtrack CD, a watch, the Karate Kid DVD, a Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 Playstation 2 game, the Final Fantasy II GameCube game, Legos and foam stickers. In addition to the above, St. Vincent's is in need of clothes in a variety of sizes, AA and C batteries, and Gift Cards. Gift Cards are especially appreciated since they let the children pick out exactly what they want and allow St. Vincent to save storage space as they renovate. We will also be collecting money to shop for items from our child's list. We will be collecting money and items at our QPE and Monthly Meeting at Red Star on December 7th. To make separate arrangements for donations, please call Jason Reid at 443-910-4419 or email at jpreid@netcotitle.com. Thank you!
